Small Group Classes
Learning Together. Thinking Deeply.
Small group classes at Creatures of Learning offer students the chance to learn with peers in an environment built on curiosity, compassion, and connection. These classes are designed for learners who thrive when ideas are shared, explored, and applied in community.
Groups are intentionally small so every student is seen, supported, and able to grow at their own pace while still experiencing the energy of working alongside others.
A Space for Shared Learning
Small group classes at Creatures of Learning offer students a chance to learn with peers in a remote environment built on curiosity, compassion, and connection. Classes meet online in small, intentionally formed groups so every student is seen and supported, while still benefiting from the energy and creativity that come from learning together.
Even in a virtual space, the experience is personal, collaborative, and grounded. Students show up as themselves, build confidence, and learn through shared exploration.
Students Who Thrive Here
Small group classes work best for students who want learning to feel less like a task and more like a shared experience. These groups are a place for students who enjoy being part of something, even in a remote space. They come ready to listen, to wonder, to laugh a little, to ask real questions, and to grow at a pace that feels comfortable and supported.
The students who thrive here are often the ones who:
feel more confident when they can hear ideas out loud and build on what others notice
like learning in a calmer, smaller environment where they do not have to fight for space
want a little more guidance than they get on their own, but without the pressure of a high stakes classroom
appreciate having structure while still being invited to think creatively
enjoy the feeling of being “in it together,” even through a screen
are curious by nature and benefit from a setting that rewards curiosity rather than rushing past it
Homeschool students and pod learners often find this especially grounding, because the group gives them a sense of community without sacrificing personalization.
Groups are mixed age in a thoughtful way. Older students practice leadership and care. Younger students learn confidence and voice. Together they create a rhythm that feels human and collaborative.
What Our Sessions Feel Like
Students move between short lessons, group activities, and hands on problem solving, with space to ask questions.
Exploration
Each session closes with reflection and next steps so students know what they learned and where they are headed.
Reflection
We begin with a simple check in and shared warm up so everyone feels present and included.
Connection
Applied Algebra through Design
Using digital tools to explore algebra through architecture, engineering, and creative design.
Intro to Physics and Energy
Online demonstrations, simulations, and experiments that bring motion, forces, and energy to life.
Geometry in the Real World
Architecture, mapping, artistic design, and the mathematics of space explored through virtual tools.
Storycraft and Writing Lab
Collaborative world building, narrative development, and reflective writing.
Executive Function and Learning Skills
Planning, organization, habits, self advocacy, and strengthening academic confidence.
Creative Problem Solving
Logic puzzles, games, real world challenges, and collaborative design tasks.
Class Themes & Explorations
What matters most is the fit.
Every group is shaped around the students who are in it, what they want to understand, and how they learn best. When a family reaches out with a need or an idea, we explore it together. Many of our most meaningful classes began because one student said, “I wish there was a group for this.”
Small group classes grow out of the questions students are actually asking. Instead of running a fixed menu of courses, we design groups around what learners are curious about right now. Some seasons that looks like a physics lab. Other times it becomes a storytelling workshop, a geometry and architecture class, or a space to strengthen planning and executive function skills.

Let’s Build Together
Families can join an existing remote class or request a custom group with a small cohort of friends or a homeschool pod. We work with you to match your learner with a group that fits their age, level, and needs.
